Takahiro Miyashita draws inspiration from the design of military overpants for this pair of ultra-wide baggy cargos. The rarest material version of these pants, thispair is fabricated inatechnical polyester wool blend. The durable polyester face fabric has a luxuriously soft wool backing in a contrasting navy color, reading almost like a sweatpant loopback terry but elevated, sharp, and with a surprising lightness. It insulates yet has an airiness and openness that makes this a perfect 3 season pant (spring/fall/winter). The military bags rendered in this fabric fall with a round, sculptural drape, giving the silhouette a real sense of softness as can be seen inthe 3D cargo pockets at the thighs and seat. The thigh and back pockets are finished with leather trim at the openings, giving them enoughheft to stand off the body. Cut adjacent to the wool/cashmere lined front slash pockets are button-closedslits that echo those of military overpants, openings that allowthe wearer to access the pockets ofany trouser worn underneath. This pair also features nylon-taffeta patch pockets sewn to the inside of the pants adjacent to the opening. Additional vintage military overpantinspirationis found in the triple layer overlapped fly, here finished with leather bound edges and two buttons at the waist. The pant is rounded out with drawstring webbing at waist and hem to belt down the intentionally-oversized trouser and/or alter the fit at the leg opening.
